i can't hear the song 'dream on' without crying, if even just a little bit.
my older brother and i put gouges in the record and could sing, play and jam to it night and day. that was almost 30 years ago. it had been our favorite song of all time.
a few years ago we buried my older brother who died of a heart attack, secondary to diabetes. his best friend and i worked on the memorial service together and of course, we had to put dream on in there. we decided that paul would have wanted it that way. the older aunts and great uncles didn't understand the cries of dream on, dream on, dream until your dream comes true... but we did.
so last night when i heard the intro to dream on being played on my son's newest guitar hero song collection, i was taken way off guard and was, because of my warm and caring family, consolable. they all, too, miss paul. my son played the song a few times for me (doing pretty well, too) then i was all out of tears for the night.
it's a positive song, tho most people don't think of it as such. so, dream on - dream it 'til your dream comes true.
peace---

my mom used to make a dish called beans and meatballs for me. first you carmalize a bunch of onions, then you add some 'american meatballs' (i guess meatballs with reg breadcrumbs) browning on all 4 sides, adding the pork 'n beans last to simmer and mix all the flavors.
i grew up on this meal, once a week - it's about the only thing my mom cooked for us so it meant a great deal to us (my brothers and i).
i used to visit my mom after we had all grown and gone our seperate ways, and she would cook me this dish. now she is hunchback (he back riddled with arthritis) and blind and though she stubbornly stays in her own home alone, she can't do much never mind beans and meatballs.
i made it once for my partner nanci and she was disgusted by it. i can no longer cook anyway.
there's a saying, "you can never go home again" and since i didn't have much of a home, i never really understood that saying. is the loss of beans and meatballs what they mean?
anyway, instead of focusing on an economy i can't do much about, and about the healthcare i need so much but that i could lose as quickly as the next person, and the foreign policy i totally disagree with, or even worry about our future president being gov. palin (what's her first name?) - i've been mourning the loss of beans and meatballs.
as they says in stairway (and probably one of the only clear things they say) - 'the past is gone.'
ok. i give in. the past IS gone.
don't be concerned though. the present is now, and the future, well, the day after that.

I'd like to express my sorrows towards the passing of Richard Wright, keyboard player of Pink Floyd, and sympathies towards his family and fans alike. I have no words of my own since I'm still kinda in shock.
Shine on, Rick.

i was talking to my mom on the phone the other day and we were discussing some difficult subjects. she has the untreatable kind of macular degeneration and she is almost completely blind now. she also uses a cane because 8 months ago she fell and broke her pelvis.
she lives alone in the house on cape cod ( 4 hrs from either my brother or myself )that my late dad built. i was talking to her about maybe moving into an assisted living arrangement.
she said, "i know all about it but i don't want to talk about that because the next conversation is nursing home. i'm planning to live dear, not planning to die..."
from a lady who i've never heard say a positive thing about anything, she turned out pretty ok in my book.

the effects of meeping

The fundamental effect of meeping has two effects - it alerts the computer that the user is also confused so that it will do it's best to be helpful, and it allows the user to acknowldge that there is a problem, then contemplate on why the problem has occurred in order to determine ways to solve that problem. The relationship between computer confusion and human confusion is therefore clearly demonstrated through the meep, and acknowledgement of this allows both man and machine to understand each other and try to come to an understanding in which both can work in hamony.
